The backup reality
Stage 6 means up to 6+ hours off the grid, every day.
A correctly sized inverter and battery means you barely notice.
What we do
One team, from the DB board to the roof.
Solar & backup power
Grid-tied solar, hybrid inverters and lithium battery backup — sized for how your household actually uses power. From essentials-only backup through load shedding, to systems that cut most of what you buy from Eskom.

Home electrical
DB boards, rewires, plugs, lights, geysers and stoves. Safe, neat work in lived-in homes.
Building & renovation wiring
New builds and extensions wired to plan, coordinated with your builder from first fix to final CoC.
Faultfinding & repairs
Earth leakage tripping? Dead circuits? Burning smell at the board? We find the cause — not just the symptom — and fix it properly.
Load shedding & backup power
Load shedding shouldn't run your household.
Higher stages mean more hours in the dark, more spoiled food, more missed work and homework. And every year, Eskom tariffs climb well above inflation. Solar with battery backup turns that from a daily disruption into a non-event.
Installing grid-tied solar? We'll advise on your municipality's small-scale embedded generation (SSEG) registration requirements.
Essentials that stay on
Lights, Wi-Fi, fridge, TV and the kids' devices through any stage — automatically, in milliseconds.
Buy less from Eskom
Panels feed your home by day and charge your batteries for the evening peak.
Sized honestly
We look at your geyser, stove and real usage before recommending anything. No oversold systems.

Why Adaptive Power
Certified work isn't a nice-to-have. It's the law.
The Certificate of Compliance (CoC)
Every electrical installation in South Africa must be covered by a Certificate of Compliance issued by a registered electrician. It's what your insurer checks after a claim, and what a buyer's attorney demands when you sell.
We issue a CoC with every installation — it's part of the job, not an extra.
One accountable team
Solar and electrical handled by the same hands, so there's one point of contact from start to finish.
Faultfinding first
We track down the cause of a fault before touching anything — not just the symptom.

FAQ
Frequently asked questions
Can you install backup power just for load shedding, without solar panels?
Yes. An inverter and battery on their own will carry your essentials through load shedding, and panels can be added later — we install hybrid inverters, so the system is upgradeable from day one.
How big a solar system do I need?
It depends on what you want to keep running. An essentials-only setup (lights, fridge, Wi-Fi, TV) looks very different from a whole-home system that includes the geyser and stove. A site visit and a look at your actual usage decides it — typical homes land between a ~3 kVA essentials setup and an 8 kVA+ hybrid system.
Will solar actually reduce my Eskom bill?
Yes — panels feed your home during the day and charge your batteries for the evening peak, so you buy less from Eskom. Honest caveat: geysers and stoves dominate most households' usage, so we plan around them rather than promising a zero bill.
What is a Certificate of Compliance (CoC) and when do I need one?
A CoC is the legal certificate confirming an electrical installation is safe and compliant. You need one for every installation — insurers check it after a claim, and it's required when you sell your home. Adaptive Power issues a CoC with every installation.
Do you help with municipal SSEG registration for grid-tied solar?
Grid-tied systems must be registered with your municipality as small-scale embedded generation (SSEG). We'll advise on what your municipality requires as part of the installation.
Which areas do you cover?
East London and surrounds — Beacon Bay, Gonubie, Mdantsane — and we travel up to 400 km, reaching Qonce, Komani, Mthatha and as far as Gqeberha.
I'm on a prepaid meter — does that change anything?
Not a problem, for electrical work or solar. Backup power also means you're not caught out when the lights go off before you've loaded a new token.
Do you take on small jobs, or only big installations?
Small jobs are welcome: plugs, lights, DB board issues, geyser connections. No job is too small to do properly.
